(SONGADH)

There is a beautiful and serene village called ‘Songadh’ in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, India. This place is the “Sadhnabhoomi” i.e. the ‘Land of Pursuit’ for true happiness, of Pu. Gurudevshree Kanjiswami. He was an outstanding spiritual saint and a teacher with an extensive knowledge of religious texts that is unparalleled till date. In Vikram Sawant 1991 (1935 AD) Pu. Gurudevshree Kanjiswami honoured Songadh with his permanent presence. There he victoriously waved the flag of Spiritual independence for 45 years. He illuminated the path of enlightenment i.e. “Mokshmarg” from Songadh. Under his religious guidance and divine influence, Songadh became a haven for spiritual seekers. Spritual landmarks like “Shree Jain Swadhyay Mandir”, “Shree Simandharswami Digamber Jinmandir”, “Shree Simandharswami Samavsharan Mandir”, “Shree Kundkund PravachanMandap”, “Shree Simandharswami Manastambh”, “Shree Mahaveer Kundkund Digamber Jain Parmagam Mandir”, and “Shree Panchmeru-Nandishwar Jinalay” were built in presence of Pu. Gurudevshree. The landmarks menu here covers more details about these and other monuments. Pu. Gurudevshree resided in the “Swadhyay Mandir”. There he studied almost 200 scriptures and gave explanations in sermons, thrice a day, indubitably for 45 years making Songadh a truly Golden fort of Serenity. It was from here that Pu. Gurudevshree Kanjiswami glorified the message of “Dravya ni Swatantrata” i.e. Independence of substances and “Gynaayak ni Vishuddhtta” i.e. Purity of Self/Soul throughout the world, attracting multitudes of people – nationally and internationally.

Pu. Bahenshree Champaben distinguished Pu. Gurudevshree Kanjiswami’s as the future Tirthankar – Lord Suryakirti, through her Jatismaran Gyan (knowledge of previous births), which was enhanced through meditation and achievement of self-realization. Songadh has now become a permanent residence for many spiritual and true knowledge seekers. Additionally, Songadh has many frequent visitors who come to understand the true meaning and characteristics of soul and its independence. Now, Pu. Gurudevshree’s Songadh was famous with “Chaitanya Chaitanya” (i.e. the steadfast soul) and “Purusharth Purushath” (i.e. hard work towards enlightenment) in the entire religious fraternity.

With each heartbeat, Pu. Gurudevshree spoke about the eternal truth and complete knowledge. He ascertained that his soul, entrenched in pure knowledge, is different from all things there. He led a life full of ideals and morals, befitting an inspiration to us all. His sermons were so powerful that it would resonate through the soul searchers, leading them on the path of enlightenment. On the other hand, cowards would tremble at his strong and truthful voice.

Songadh became the Suvrapuri (Golden city) as Pu. Gurudevshree and Pu. Bahenshree stayed there for years. Songadh and Swadhyay Mandir echoed with the experienced and soulful sermons of Pu. Gurudevshree Kanjiswami. He was a revolutionary man with a divine soul and endowed with the ability to deliver the holy truth of salvation. His thoughts, words, beliefs, and actions transcended the village of Songadh into consecrated grounds.

Due to the blessings and penance of Pu. Gurudevshree, Pu. Bahenshree and his other disciples the grounds of this Suvrnapuri echoed with words “Tu Parmaatma Chhe” “Tu Bhagwaan Aatma Chhe” which means – ‘You are the Supreme Soul’ and ‘You are the God Soul’ etc. At present daily activities like Sh. Jinendra Abhishek, Puja and Bhakti; Pu. Gurudevshree’s Pravachan and Pu. Bahenshree’s Tatvacharcha are conducted routinely with the goal of self-realisation in sight. Every year, 12 vidhan pujas are conducted in Songadh. Pujas are conducted on celebrations of auspicious events like Das Lakshan—Paryushan Parva, Ashthanika, Diwali etc. Other occasions like Pu. Gurudevshree and Pu. Bahenshree’s Janmajayanti Mahotsav (Birthday celebration) and Samyakjayanti of Pu. Bahenshree (Self Realization anniversary) are celebrated with great vigour and enthusiasm. During certain celebrations, religious processions go throughout Songadh. These events attracted thousands of people to this Suvrnapuri, who benefitted by Pu. Gurudevshree’s sermons to move forward on the path of salvation. Every year, three educational workshops were organized in Songadh, where Pu. Gurudevshree would clarify all the deep messages conveyed in the scriptures.

In Songadh, arrangements have been made by the ‘Shree Digamber Jain Swadhyay Mandir Trust’ for lodging and boarding. To encourage mumukshus, Pu. Gurudevshree’s recorded sermons are made easily available and all Shastras and other religious scriptures are available in the divine shop.
